Successful Home Based Internet Marketing Business Compared to Gambling

Gambling on cards or gambling on starting up a business both hold an aura of mystery. You have to be willing to take chances in building an online Internet marketing business. There will be times of doubt and weariness fearing this business may never work for you. Shake off those doubts. This business is the real thing to put your money on. Too many people get hurt and even wiped out in the gambling industry as opposed to taking those funds to offer hope and feeling the success that comes from building a business in the world of e-commerce which shows no signs of ever stopping.
Married to a Mississippi River tugboat captain for over 20 years, I am an authority on gambling and would compare gambling to starting your own Internet marketing business. Casinos were illegal back room activities back then. Gambling was an activity on board while waiting for "jobs" to tow those mighty ships in or out of the Mississippi. Gambling on board was not for matches, or for plastic chips. It was for hard money and if you gambled with the captain, you would pay up. Poker was the game of choice on his tug, the Sally R, and he was good at it.
In ways, starting an Internet marketing business or any other business is a gamble. Are you going to make any money? How do I deal with my losses? How do I drive more business my way? Am I doing something wrong? I am growing tired of hearing about all the 40, 50, 60 K earnings. I want to earn that much! I put a bit of money on the table with my chosen system and I continue to hear about people raking in money. Compared to others, I have not risked much money because I have not got much to risk. I got laid off recently and have time to invest. The question is: Continue to put time into a business that is not paying off or start looking for a "traditional" job again?
Although he was a compulsive gambler, it took me awhile to understand this obsession. I had never gambled because I was taught gambling was a sin. He also took a class on counting cards. He had a genius IQ and became proficient overnight, joined a team and moved us to Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas, Reno and Atlantic City. E-commerce is like casinos in that it never closes. With a computer or laptop, your business can go where you go to be worked where you are. I choose to persist and be consistent in my home based business but there are occasional doubts that I gambled on the wrong business or home based business altogether.
Since I got laid off, I have "gambled" on e-commerce to make a living instead of going back to corporate America. E-commerce is the way to go now and I want to go with it. A traditional job holds nothing for me, no chance for advancement, no way to prepare for retirement and it holds the possibility of another layoff. Despite those occasional doubts, I know the online business I chose is no gamble. The gambling I witnessed, the pain it caused (gambling IS NOT a victim less past time), and the hold it had over my Riverboat Captain's psyche were very real evils. Internet marketing is building my present and will continue to build my future. The choices of advertising or how you choose to work your business are limitless and might be compared to gambling as you try different ways to market your business until you find what is going to pay off for you. My mentors with those large incomes want to see the same income for me unlike Vegas Pitt bosses watching to make sure you lose.
On 19th of November, I returned to Vegas which proved too much for me. My company was meeting at the Paris and it was imperative that I attend or I would never have stepped foot back in Vegas. I did not book a room. I took the red-eye in and the red-eye out. I was going to play the penny slots until meeting time but slot machines have changed. I was too embarrassed to go to the cashier with a $5 roll of pennies or ask anyone to show me how to work the slots. It is best I not be a part of that life again even for pennies.
Finally, I did get a room and barely made it inside before I began to weep. Why had I come back to Vegas? Was this business model going to pay off? How sickening it was to look out the window and see casinos in which we had comped suites and anything else high rollers want. I closed the curtains quickly trying to hide the past. Locked in the room away from the madness, I kept crying until I fell asleep.
While it is no doubt that gambling destroys families an online business builds hope for an income and a future. The lottery mentality will get you no where in this Internet business. You have to work hard to earn the big incomes we hear about in e-commerce. Instead of gambling your hard earned money away, consider for a moment investing in this Internet marketing business. Vegas gives you a brief high but that dissipates once on the plane for home and you wonder at what you lost and what you did in Vegas. Trust me. It does not stay in Vegas.
As opposed to the OMG that hits you on the plane, this home based business will not be something you regret. My life is more enjoyable now because of time spent with my dog, Mo, my friends and family and with what God has provided in this: http://cattleon1000hills.com/?site=VJeffL You will not see me or my name when you go to this website. I have enlisted the help of a very successful friend to explain what reasons exist for being a part of this community of entrepreneurs. No cattle or land for sale. Just a fantastic opportunity. Happy Hunting!
